So if you have seen X Men Apocalypse (Spoiler warning) you probably know that hugh jackman makes a cameo appearance in the movie as the famous wolverine.

While his appearance is very short, he does happen to kick a ton of serious ass...all while looking jacked and buff as usual.

So how does hugh jackman pull off an incredible physique despite his older age? Well according to his personal trainer, his workouts consisted of power lifting combined with hypertrophy training.

These type of workouts are very useful when developing a strong, and lasting physqiue ideal for television and movie production. However, the difference between a typical movie star workout and hugh jackman's was that it incorporated more of a strength training element.

Simply put, hugh jackman wasn't always so interested in just appearance, he actually wanted to get stronger as well.

To start off, the wolverine workout would start with a series of power lifts with a high amount of weight with low volume. Following shortly after, he would go for 8-12 reps with lots of volume doing 5 sets. In addition, he would be working the same muscles at a time, to promote massive hypertrophy and steady muscle growth.

This is argueably one of the best methods for promoting strength and power while maintaining a powerful aesthetic physique.

Now you may be wondering, how is he maintaining a low body fat percentage as well?

Alot of powerlifters don't give two shits about their physique necessarily, they just want to be able to lift crazy amounts of weight, but why not have both?

Well, to be totally honest....cardio, and lots of it will facilitate the fat loss. There's no way around it. Sure you could do light resistance training, but at the same time you are gaining muscle. Now am I saying you need to bulk up and cut? Well you could do it that way, but you could also just incorporate HIIT into your training and eat clean so you don't have an excuse to be fat for a while (and let's be honest, that's really the reason why people say they are "bulking", its because they don't want to admit that diet and cardio takes a toll on them).

So what do you think? What does your training consist of? I would love to hear your feedback, let me know in the comments below!
